Dr. Adel Abdel Latif' Regional Coordinator of the Governance Program in the Arab States' "Pojar" - United Nations Development Program'" Ms. Lina Abou-Habib' Director of the "Research and Training on Development-Action'" CRTD. ' Mrs. Amina Shafiq' a member of the National Council of Women - Egypt. Also attending were various specialists in women's affairs' including: Dr. Wadoda Badran' General Director of Arab women Organization' Ms. Merfat Abo Tig from Women's Development Forum and a member of the Group of Research and Training for Development-Action' Professor Mona Zu El Fakar' member of the National Council of Women and Dr. Georgette Qelany' member of the peoples′ Assembly.

Workshop Objectives:

- Create and maintain a constructive dialogue on the concept of women's citizenship in Arab countries.

- Increase awareness among political decision-makers' the media' and Arab societies regarding the nature of discrimination against women and the importance of creating laws that combat this problem

- Enhance the capacity of Arab women's NGOs to work towards changing policy and legislation that discriminates against women.

- Build connections between women's NGOs and political leaders to promote women's issues

Workshop Recommendations and Proposed Solutions:

1 - A disconnect exists between the daily realities and hardships of women's lives and decision makers' awareness of these situations. Thus' it is necessary to generate dialogue between state officials and women so that women's rights can be included in the law.

2 - Women's NGOs and politicians must agree on a single term to describe the legal identification card so as to facilitate equal rights for women (the difference in this term in Arab countries led to Misconception that there is no problems for women to get identification card).
